Fire Academy Information Session
February 25th, 2026 | 04:15 pm - 05:30 pm

Students interested in becoming firefighters can begin preparing for the Fall 2026 Fire Academy at a series of upcoming informational meetings hosted by Antelope Valley College.

The meetings are designed for current Fire Technology (FTEC) and Fire Technology Woodland (FTW) students, as well as anyone new to the program who wants to join the academy. Attendees will learn how to enroll in the upcoming Fire Academy and earn their Firefighter-1 state certification, a key step toward applying for professional firefighting positions.

Each session will walk participants through the application process, required prerequisites, estimated costs and important deadlines. Faculty will also host a question-and-answer segment to help prospective cadets understand expectations and prepare for success.

Attendance at one informational meeting is required to begin the Fire Academy application process. No registration is needed, and participants can simply attend one of the scheduled sessions.

These meetings provide an opportunity for aspiring firefighters to gain clarity on the path ahead and take the first step toward a challenging and rewarding public safety career.
