Black Girl Mathmagicians
February 17th, 2026 | 02:00 pm - 05:00 pm

Antelope Valley College students are invited to explore the power of math, representation, and community during Black Girl Mathmagicians, a tutor-led event hosted by the Learning Center in partnership with the Associated Student Organization.

The event will feature a screening of the film Hidden Figures, followed by a guided roundtable discussion led by Learning Center tutors. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences with math, including challenges, achievements and the role STEM plays in their academic and professional goals.

In addition to the film and discussion, students can receive complimentary math supplies, including calculators, notebooks, pens and study guides, while supplies last.

Free snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Black Girl Mathmagicians is designed to support students interested in math and STEM fields, while creating space for meaningful conversation about representation and the experiences of underrepresented individuals in these disciplines. The event aims to encourage confidence, connection and practical academic support through peer-led engagement.

No registration or tickets are required, and all AVC students are welcome to attend.
