Antelope Valley College students are invited to slow down, get creative and take a mindful break during the “Let’s Chalk About It: Chalk and Doughnuts” event on Wednesday, May 6.
Held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. outside of SOAR High School and behind the gym, the drop-in event offers students a simple, hands-on way to support their mental well-being.
Participants can stop by anytime to create chalk art, enjoy a free doughnut while supplies last and spend a few moments focusing on a relaxing, creative activity.
Chalk drawing encourages mindfulness by helping individuals reduce stress and express themselves in a low-pressure environment. Similar to meditation, the activity shifts attention away from daily worries and into a calming, creative experience.
Students are encouraged to take a breather, grab some chalk and make their mark, no experience required.
