ACCJC Reaffirms AV College Accreditation for Seven Years
Antelope Valley College

LANCASTER, CA – The Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) has reaffirmed accreditation for Antelope Valley College for another seven years, college officials announced today.

The renewed accreditation confirms that AV College meets ACCJC’s Eligibility Requirements, Commission Policies, and Accreditation Standards. Additionally, AV College received Commendations for “its outstanding Airframe Manufacturing Technology (AFMT) bachelor’s degree program offering, which reflects the diversity of the community it serves and culminates in 92 percent completion rates” according to the review letter from ACCJC.

“I am so proud of the dedication and work that this reaffirmation represents,” said Antelope Valley College Superintendent/President Jennifer Zellet, PhD. “Earning full accreditation and a commendation for our baccalaureate degree in Airframe Manufacturing Technology is a direct result of our collective efforts as a campus community that is focused on the success of our students. I want to thank everyone at AVC who worked on this, particularly Dr. Meeta Goel and Dr. Morenike Adebayo-Ige for co-leading the work with our faculty, classified professionals, administrators, and community partners.”

As part of its process, ACCJC reviewed AV College’s Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER), evidentiary materials, and the Peer Review Team Report conducted by a peer review team that visited the college September 18-19, 2023. The Peer Review Team included administrators and faculty from other California Community Colleges.

The Commendation AV College received signifies institutional practices for which the Commission believes exceeded Standards. The Reaffirmation comes with no compliance requirement, and there are no recommendations for improving institutional effectiveness.

“On behalf of the Commission, we wish to express appreciation for the diligent work and thoughtful reflection that Antelope Valley College undertook to prepare for this review,” said ACCJC President Mac Powell and ACCJC Chair Lori Gaskin, in their review letter to AV College.

AV College's next Midterm Report is due on October 15, 2027, while the ISER (Institutional Self-Evaluation Report) is due in the Spring of 2030.
