In the most rapidly growing and competitive fields of (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math creates a challenging and engaging, inquiry-based learning environment. Through robust collaboration and partnership with aerospace industries and the US Air Force that require a STEM-prepared workforce, CATIE’s mission is to broaden participation and create success through opportunities for students and the community at large by supporting STEM educational and activity programs.

STEMPosium 2019 held on November 14, 2019 at Edwards Air Force Base Recap

In part of our support for STEM education and outreach, California Aerospace Technologies Institute of Excellence (CATIE) hosted at Edwards Air Force Base the STEMPosium conference on November 14, 2019 at Club Muroc for the Greater Antelope Valley educational institutions. Dr. Khalil Dajani, Executive Director of CATIE introduced Brigadier General E. John “Dragon” Teichert of Edwards Air Force Base who was the Keynote Speaker among scientists from NASA, and Northrop Grumman. The event sponsored by Antelope Valley East Kern STEM Network, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Edwards Air Force 412th Test Wing, Northrop Grumman, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, Antelope Valley College, and Antelope Valley Union High School District. Administrators, students and Air Force personnel attended and participated in the event.
The following are the educational institutions and organizations participated in the event: Antelope Valley Union High School District, Air Force Research Lab – Edwards Air Force Base, Antelope Valley College/AVC Foundation, AVBOT, California State University Long Beach – Antelope Valley Engineering Program, CATIE, Cerro Coso Community College, Edwards Air Force Base 412th Test Wing, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, Keppel Union School District – Daisy Gibson School, Los Angeles County Office of Education, Mojave Unified School District, Muroc Joint Unified School District, Paraclete High School, Southern Kern Unified School District, Tehachapi Unified School District, The Palmdale Aerospace Academy, and Westside Union School District.
