ALEXANDER M. ARVIZU

ALEXANDER M. ARVIZU

Alexander has done lead and supporting roles in feature and short films that have been screened at various film festivals. Alex studied acting at Ivana Chubbuck's Studio perfecting his experience in plays, musicals, and improv. He plays various instruments and can perform his own stunts.

Carlos A.

CARLOS ARVIZU

Carlos Arvizu is a 3D character artist, using industry software to create characters for games, films and cinematics. Carlos has a deep appreciation for storytelling and is excited to be a part of his very first theater/play with AVC and having the opportunity to tell such an impactful story.

Anthony V.

ANTHONY DAKARMENJIAN

Anthony is a student at Antelope Valley College majoring in theatre. He has performed in other shows here in the Antelope Valley such as Clue and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Anthony is very excited to help make such an important and impactful story come to life.

JAYLEN DEADMON-HUGHES

With many artistic endeavors, Jaylen has been performing either in dancing, singing, or acting most of her life and has been in several theatrical productions such as The Lion King, The Phantom Tollbooth, and Our Stories. Our Voices. She is honored and grateful to be part of such a wonderful and meaningful production!

JESSIE DELGADO

Jessie is excited to make her acting debut in this production of The Laramie Project. Her parts are April Silva, Minister’s Wife, and Waitress. Jessie will be graduating from AVC this Spring with degrees in Communications and Sociology. Jessie has been bitten by the acting bug and wants to participate in theater when she transfers to California State University, Northridge.

JOHANN HILL

Johann is a versatile actor known for his compelling performances in both drama and comedy. With a career spanning over a decade, having played Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird, Gregory in Romeo and Juliet, and Mr. Hathaway in Bells on Their Toes, Johann has demonstrated that he brings something interesting to each character.

David H.

DAVID HOLMES

David is a native Palmdalien, new to AVC, and this is his first theater performance. His stage history of music and entertainment prepared him to bring his best in acting. He only hopes to do this play justice, as its pertinence continues to cross generations.

DONNICE JOHNSON

Donnice, twenty years old, has been passionate about acting for as long as she can remember. She also enjoys modeling, and this September she will be walking in a fashion event in New York!

Trenton M.

TRENTON MACKABEE

Trenton Mackabee is 18 and has lived around the AV for over 12 years. He is currently an aspiring voice actor that is working on his associate degree in Theatre Arts. He hopes that you enjoy the performance and get absorbed into the story about Matthew Shepard.

WILL NICOLAI

Will is an Actor/Director in the Antelope Valley. He’s been involved in theatre for over 20 years both onstage and behind the scenes. Recently, he directed A Christmas Carol for Cedar Street Theater and will be directing Romeo & Juliet for their next season! He is so honored to be a part of this production and hopes you feel how impactful this show has been and will continue to be.

KELVIN OBETOH

Kelvin is excited to be in his fifth production for AVC. He always had the passion of acting and theatre since the age of 7. He hopes to take his gift to the big screen and make a bigger name for himself than he already has.

Bettie is an Actor/Director with a strong creative drive to create things out of the ordinary. She is excited to help bring forth this powerful message for all to hear. She has appeared in previous shows with Eastside High School such as The Phantom Tollbooth and One by One.

JONATHAN RANGEL

Jonathan is an aspiring educator and actor in the Antelope Valley. He has six years of theater experience and is excited for his 10th production. Jonathan is grateful and honored to be a part of Antelope Valley College’s production of The Laramie Project.

Jamaal S.

JAMAAL SCHMIDT

Who is Jamaal? He is a theatre kid of 7 years (19 shows!) experience, excluding directorial, managing, etc. experience. He looks forward to broadening his horizons. He keeps talking about how, once he directs Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, he will finish acting and become a full time behind the scenes guy.

SARAH DE LUNA STALLWORTH

Sarah is an aspiring actress, playwright, and screenwriter. She has a deep passion for storytelling and hopes to be able to share her own with the world someday. She has appeared in previous shows at AVC such as the One Acts Festival and Our Stories. Our Voices.

Ryan S.

RYAN J. SOLANO

Ryan is honored to perform in such a powerful, important performance. Ryan was most recently seen playing Mr. Boddy in Clue. Past shows include Rough Magic, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Romeo and Juliet, and A Murderer Is Announced. Ryan is passionate about theatre and will continue to work on and off the stage to pursue his career in the arts.

ELISA WASHINGTON

Elisa is an artistic singer/songwriter that enjoys using her spare time to be a part of Theatre Arts. This is her first serious role, but she has acted in Drama showcases, performed in talent shows, and was cast in Green Day’s American Idiot: The Musical.

AVIGAIL RUIZ ZARAZUA

Avigail is a student at Antelope Valley College who is passionate about Theater Arts. She has been involved in makeup for productions in past shows at AVC such as Clue and Rough Magic. She feels privileged to be a part of this cast and to share with others the important message of awareness of this production.

Felipe is an aspiring actor. He is grateful for the opportunity to be in such an intense performance. Felipe recently entered the performing world last year and performed in The One Acts Festival and Clue. He is honored to be a part of this production.

KATELYNN BARILLAS

Katelynn has always adored Art and she has dreams of inspiring the world with her art. In high school she starred in Romeo & Juliet, Monty Python, and Annie the Musical. She also performed in an AVC show, Our Stories. Our Voices. This is her first production show at AVC, and she is extremely honored to be a part of something so powerful and meaningful.

CHLOE MARIE ESTRELLA

Chloe is privileged to be this semester’s Stage Manager for The Laramie Project. She feels a great sense of responsibility to-in the words of Father Roger Schmit-do her best and “say it right”. Chloe has been heavily involved with the Theatre Arts Department for almost two years now but is especially grateful for the growth spurt this show has made her go through.

DEANNA EVANS

Deanna is the assistant stage manager for this production. This is her second time being one, her first time was in the One Acts Festival in the Spring of 2022 in “A Sign is a Sign” by Peter Dakutis. She doesn't have much experience but loves the inner workings of the theater and working behind the scenes and wants to be as helpful as she can.

VANESSA GARCIA

Vanessa has been an actor since 2017, she has written a play, “Friends” Suck, in 2023 and is now taking on the role as Student Assistant Director. She’s learning the technical work that is put into production first-hand. Along with AD, she is also the photographer and responsible for lighting cues. She is enlivened to be a part of this production because of the many ways she is involved.

JUNELYNN PAO

Junelynn worked on props for AVC’s production of Clue in Fall 2023. She is honored to be working on this play, The Laramie Project. Being the Prop Lead has been stressful trying to find the perfect props to fit all the actors, but she enjoys it very much!

Leilani has been involved with theatre for six years. For two of those years, she has worked on lighting for the Nutcracker ballet at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center. Leilani is so grateful and excited to be a part of the costume crew for The Laramie Project.

MARLENE PUERTO

Marlene is an AVC student majoring in Theatre Arts with hopes of being a playwright, author, screenwriter, and casting director. Marlene has participated in sharing her plays at Our Stories. Our Voices. performances. She is assisting backstage with wardrobe and costumes for The Laramie Project and has helped with a previous production of Clue. She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to participate in this production and to share Matthew Shepard's story.

GABRIELA SIMA

Gabriela is a student at Antelope Valley College, who participates in the theater out of passion and interest. She loves working behind the scenes by building the set and operating audio cues. She is set on working on The Laramie Project to further her passion for theater work.

SAMANTHA TURK

Samantha, 19-years-old, is enthusiastic about her role in The Laramie Project. Theater is more than a hobby; it's her passion and a vital outlet for self-expression. She is deeply committed to exploring diverse characters and narratives onstage. The Laramie Project is based on a true story that encases how hatred can lead to violence, and how we as humans should spread love and kindness. She is so happy to be a part of this play and is looking forward to everyone watching it.
